The hotel has 46 comfortable air-conditioned rooms, each with its own bathroom. All rooms command an ocean view. The rooms have traditional Zanzibar beds with mosquito nets. With a design inspire by the traditional East African village, the hotel is for the most part naturally built of local materials. The high-rise roofs are covered with the leaves of coconut palms. Lazy Lagoon lies in the Zanzibar Channel offshore from mainland Bagamoyo. It boasts nine kilometres of deserted beach, and is also a natural reserve home to many small mammals, mangrove trees and patches of indigenous forest.
