• Cycling safari

This activity is just the thing for those who enjoy biking and want to cover more terrain than walking.

Leave the lodge and descend down the Rift Valley escarpment. Ride on a single-track path though Mto Wa Mbu village then ride to the lakeshore. Meet a vehicle with drinks and snacks and get driven back to the lodge.

Included:        Guide, mountain bikes, helmets, gloves, water bottles,                        snacks and transfer back to the lodge

Fitness level:   Moderate (it is downhill or flat most of the way)

  • Village walk

For those who want to get close to nature, see the real Africa – its people and their cultures, their way of life… then this activity is a perfect option for you.

Drive down to Mto Wa Mbu with your local guide and walk around the farming areas. Visit the kindergarten, miller, church, local homes, and farmlands.

Included:              Local guide, water packs, round trip transport, village                             contribution.

Fitness level:         Low (all ages can enjoy this activity)

  • Forest hike

Guests can enjoy a good walk and enjoy the scenic peaceful natural environment.

Leave the lodge reception on foot, walk along the edge of the escarpment, descend down into a nearby gorge, explore groundwater springs, and end the hike at the Park entrance gate to be driven back to the lodge.

Included:             Guide, water bottles, snacks and drinks at the end; and                           transport to lodge.

  • Canoeing Safari

Canoeing safaris on the tranquil waters of the Lake gives a completely different perspective to a game viewing experience. As the canoes slowly go through the lake, you can see grazing giraffes, elephants and buffalos on the shoreline. Hippo families live within the lake; however they are in deeper waters and will observe us gliding past them – no threats. Lake Manyara is home to an incredible array of bird life; more than 400 species have been recorded including thousands of pink-hued flamingos

Enjoy the breathtaking scenery; watch the wildlife and birds in their natural habitat. You can stop paddling for a while, relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you.

At the end of the canoe safari, refresh yourself with snacks and drinks.
