Pangani, situated about 50 km south of Tanga in the north-eastern corner of Tanzania, is rich with historical sites that serve as reminders of the Arabic, German and British period in East Africa.

Historical Walking Tour

Visit the original slave depots and slave market where Arab traded slaves to India and Arabia, the freedom grounds, Islamic and German graves, ancient mosques and traditional houses. The tour offers a good insight into the 15th and 16th century history and culture of Pangani town, as well as visits to wood cravers, basket weavers, carpet makers and painters.

Coconut Sunset Cruise
Coconut farming is a major activity in Pangani. Witness the labour intensive process of farming before taking a cruise down the Pangani river. Go along stunning scenery of never-ending coconut plantations and end with refreshing coconut juice at sunset.

Agricultural and Nature Walk

This tour allows the visitor to experience both the beautiful scenery and culture of Pangani. Guides will lead you to agricultural projects in the area, a coconut processing unit at Kikokwe and German fort facing the Pemba Channel.
