Depart by boat on Lake Tanganyika to Gombe National Park. Overnight at Kasekela Lodge or private tented camp.
Full day trekking the chimpanzees. Meals and overnight at Kasekela Lodge or private tented camp.
After breakfast return by boat to Kigoma. Transfer to airport for flight to Dar es Salaam.
MAHALE MOUNTAINS NATIONAL PARK

Depart by flight from Dar es Salaam to Kigoma. On arrival at Kigoma Airport, meet and transfer to hotel for overnight (b/b).
Transfer by boat to Mahale National Park arriving in the evening. Dinner and overnight at TANAPA rest house or private tented camp.

Two full days are spent at Mahale National Park. Meals and accommodation at TANAPA rest house or private tented camp.
Return to Kigoma by boat and transfer to lodge for overnight (b/b).
Day at leisure. Transfer to Kigoma Airport for return flight to Dar es Salaam.
Note Extra day at Mahale / Gombe is possible.

FYI Getting there: Between a four and nine hour boat trip, depending on the boat, from Kigoma or a two-hour flight from Arusha or Dar es Salaam.
Ujiji: Is a village close to Kigoma from where, in 1858, Burton and Speke commenced their exploration of Lake Tanganyika and where, in 1871, Henry Morton Stanley pronounced the famous words ‘Dr Livingstone I presume’. Two engraved plaques and a small museum commemorate these events.
