There is more than one way to climb a mountain, our experts at Easy Travel will be delighted to answer all your questions to help you make your decision.
Climbers really appreciate having these toilets on the mountain, as they offer a cleaner, more hygienic experience than the public toilets.
There’s no need to be a superhuman to get to the top, and there is certainly no need to be a mountaineer, but a reasonable level of fitness is required and will make the whole climb much more comfortable. In preparation for your climb, start your training a few months before you arrive. Build your stamina, your core strength, build your cardio. Best of all, put on your daypack and do some hiking!
Climbing Kili is possible at any time of the year, but is best undertaken in the drier months. The best times to climb are between the start of December and the start of March, or between the end of June and the end of October. Of course. these are the busiest times, but only experienced hikers are advised to tackle the mountain in the wetter months.
The price you pay includes your hotel accommodation before and after the climb, transportation from the hotel to the trailhead and back, all park fees, hut/camp accommodation and all meals on the mountain, breakfast at the hotel before and after the climb, and the services and expertise of the mountain crew. Prices do not include your airport pick-up, any flights (whether international or internal), lunch, dinner or beverages at the hotel, personal gear and equipment, or tips for the mountain crew.
Zero deposit, no date change fees, and cancellation fee! Say goodbye to all that complicated jargon. We handle everything for you with our minimum booking fee policy.
I have always dreamed of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. When a friend and I finally decided to give it a go, we were quickly confronted with a vast number of tour operators. Now, having climbed Mount Kilimanjaro – experiencing the most amazing sunrise at Stella Point and posing at the summit in the early morning sun – and having experienced an incredible Safari – including hunting lions, baby elephants and so much more – I am confident to say that Easy Travel was the perfect choice.
Not least because of how professional and service-oriented everyone at Easy Travel was. Evania, who helped us plan our trip was amazing. She accommodated all our wishes, provided us with alternative itineraries and replied to endless e-mails and questions (at least for us, a lot of questions only came to mind in the process of planning the trip). Thank you so much for your patience:) We also met her upon our arrival and at the de-briefing at the end or our trip and this also contributed to our feeling of being really taken care of well.
The same is true for our great mountain guides Gibson, Danny and Hamza, our mountain chef Erasto and the entire team of porters. Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro was an incredibly beautiful experience and it was our guides, the chef and the porters that made it possible for us to reach the summit. What is more, they made our days on the mountain a truly unforgettable and amazing experience. Our tents were put up in beautiful spots on the campsites, the food was really good and plenty, and the whole team greated us with a smile and a ‘fistbump’ when we reached the camp.
Our plan was to reward us with a safari after the hiking. With Easy Travel it was possible to combine hiking in a small (and lovely) group with a private safari. So it was the two of us and our driver Joseph, who was very nice and knowledgeable. He had a lot of experience and took us to amazing spots, often early in the morning. Joseph explained everything about the wildlife and the flora but also told us a lot about the history and culture in Tanzania.
Thank you again Easy Travel. You promised us the experience of a life time and our trip exceeded all expectations.
Team Frank all the way! We are so happy we went with Easy Travel for our honeymoon and Kilimanjaro climb. We literally just returned from the 7 day Machame route with Frank as our head guide and Gasto as our assistant guide and had the most amazing experience! Easy Travel always promptly responded to any inquiries we had prior to the trek and also congratulated both our marriage and our summitting with cakes! It was very important to us that we went with a company who has strong ethics and treated their employees well and found that in Easy Travel who is part of the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project. It was evident that all their employees enjoyed working there and they are able to retain their workers.
In terms of on mountain experience, Frank and Gasto have completely perfected customer care. Team Frank went out of their way to anticipate and meet all our needs to ensure that we had the best possible experience. We were so comfortable and never wanted for anything. Our tents and bags were always completely set up upon our arrival at the campsites. Sunday, our tent man, arrived at the next camp sites at 5AM to scope out the best spots including proximity to the cleanest toilets. Prosper, the camp manager, coordinated all the proceedings and behind the scenes set up were smooth (e.g., ensured someone always watching our tent to ensure our belongings were safe, etc.). Eliakim and Emmanuel were our porters which would come help carry our day packs close to the end of our daily hikes, something we never saw other companies do. Also, as part of Team Frank comes Toshi who is seriously a culinary wizard and whipped up the most delicious meals even at 4200m up while it was hailing. He also went out of his way to bake a birthday cake for my husband. (How!? We will never know). Festo, our waiter, was always so courteous and made sure we had everything we needed for the day (e.g., water for washing, drinking water) as well as all meal needs.
Frank is so experienced and knowledgeable about the mountain and it shows in the way that he guided us around the routes, even in complete darkness on summit night. We would not have been able to successfully summit without him and Gasto. Gasto, aka G-man aka G-money was an amazing “assistant” guide who was easily at the level of “head” guided at other organizations. He always made sure to be in a position where he could keep an eye on the both of us especially on slippery slopes or when we were “rock/sand skiing”. They were always funny, encouraging and positive and completely knew their way about every nook and cranny of the mountain (which was useful when bypassing large groups, knowing where to step, or finding easier shortcuts). It was evident they also cared about not only their own clients but the well-being of other individuals climbing the mountain. After summitting, we came across another climber who was suffering from severe altitude sickness and both Gasto and Frank rushed to help him. Frank also helped clean up the mountain by picking up trash as he guided us.
From start to finish, there is nothing that Team Frank could have done to improve our experience. We had a fantastic experience hiking Kilimanjaro and will always remember this trek as challenging but so rewarding, which was made possible only with the support of Team Frank. If you are considering climbing Kili, we would 100% recommend Easy Travel and request Team Frank!
I climbed the Kilimanjaro with Easy Travel. It was a great and amazing adventure!
We had a great crew who took care of us during the whole trip. The two guides Gasto en Francis have a lot of experience and so you can tell. They look after you, motivate you, check how you are doing, give good advice for when you have mountain sickness, know the best time to start walking so it is not crowded during the day, help you and last but not least they create a positive vibe. We have had a really great time and laughed a lot.
But also the rest of the crew was amazing. Without them we would not have made it to the summit of the Kilimanjaro. They deserve a lot of respect. They carried our stuff, the tents and everything we needed. The chef was cooking delicious food. Breakfast with pancakes, toast and fruit. Warm lunch and dinner, and for snacks; popcorn, nuts and cookies. Even if you don’t like something you can juist tell them and they will try to adapt for you.
The crew has an amazing vibe and sang some nice Kilimanjaro songs. During the trip you can sing the songs with them, they wil learn you the songs like they did with us ; ).
I want to say thank you to the whole crew: Gasto Mallya, Francis Makuru, Kasiani Tosh, Hamisi Abrahamani, Kitenana nyamsaki, Idd Lwambo, Idd Sabuni, Frank Mollel, Alex Silasi, Juma Ibaba, Sunday Michael, Sunday Shabaha, Bashiri Sefu, Swalaha Ally, Suleiman Ayubu.
At the end of the trip the crew felt like a new family! I wish everybody who is going to climb Kilimanjaro this amazing crew. With this crew you will reach the summit!!
We returned from our trek to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro last week and it was amazing. We went with Easy Travel, a Tanzanian based company because of the sheer number of terrific reviews, pricing and our research revealing more well-known adventure companies sub-contract to Easy Travel.
Our client contact was Norah. Norah was fabulous in helping us select the best trek for us (Lemosho route). She always promptly and comprehensively responded to our emails. We were provided a detailed itinerary and other information about our trek. When our accommodation booked through Booking.com fell through a few weeks before the trek, Norah sorted out an alternative place for us to stay in a few hours.
We trekked with two knowledgeable and experienced mountain guides (Gasto and Francis), one terrific chef (Toshi) and eight porters, some of whom doubled as the Camp Manager (Hamissi), Tent Man (Kitunana), Waiter (Alex) and Toilet Manager (Edi-One). Each and everyone of our team were fabulous (our other porters were Edi-Two, Fahari, Amiri and Frank).
It is patently clear that customer service is the number one priority for Easy Travel and each of their staff exemplify Easy Travel’s genuine desire to ensure each of their clients get the best of out of their trek. In our first briefing with Gasto he made it clear that if there was anything we wanted done differently we just needed to ask, and to not feel nervous or worried about asking. Everyone was very approachable and respectful and through small gestures tried to make our lives easier. For example, Kitunana noticed our face washer had dropped on the ground (I had accidentally left it somewhere) and when he thought no-one was watching, washed it clean for us and hung it to dry on our tent. Fahari quickly took our day packs from us at the end of each day whilst others set our camp chairs so we could rest as soon as we got to camp.
Our team’s collective experience showed each and every day. Our tent had the best view and on the days it didn’t it was because Gasto knew where the most sheltered spots were and that it was better that his clients were able to sleep the night and not have to worry about having to be moved because of bad weather. On summit day, despite poor visibility, Gasto unerringly led us to Uhuru Peak (making it his 200th successful summit in seven years). Francis, Hamissi and Kitunana also summited with us and were always nearby to catch us if we slipped in snow or over-balanced. There was not a moment on this trek I did not feel completely safe.
We also loved the sense of civic responsibility and competence that emanates from Gasto. He not only looked after the porters in our group but the porters of other groups if he noticed they were cold or needed attention.
We could not recommend Easy Travel more highly and we cannot emphasis enough how much more you will enjoy your trek if you choose Easy Travel. Our only complaint is that Toshi’s food was so good that we put on weight climbing Kilimanjaro
Our family of 5 (boys aged 15,13,8) had the most incredible wildlife safari with Easy Travel. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and professional and the company is very clear about procedures for tipping ahead of time which is greatly appreciated. The tour guides clearly take pride in their jobs. They made us feel like family. The pop-top land cruiser was comfortable and they partner with Torrillis camps for those who want a glamping experience more in nature rather than a lodge which our family loved. Our favorite destinations were Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro crater which surprised us because we thought we would want more time in the Serengeti. We traveled at the end of November during the shoulder season but still saw the big 5 and witnessed the wildebeest migration. It was very rainy in the Serengeti and multiple companies had cars that got stuck. We were very grateful to be with a company that had multiple cars in the reserve at the same time to help each other – some small companies were stuck for 12 hours or more – basically lost the whole day of sight seeing- and were still waiting when we left after trying unsuccessfully to help them.
In addition we were able to customize our trip to include transportation to Dodoma as we couldn’t find flights that coordinated with our schedule. Norah was fantastic to work with and the trip was one of the best ever adventures for our pretty adventurous family.
