Basecamp Masai Mara is an eco-friendly tented camp set along the Talek River, directly bordering the Masai Mara National Reserve. Shaded by mature trees, the camp offers a peaceful setting with views across the river towards the wildlife-rich savannah.
The camp is closely connected to the neighbouring Maasai community and places strong importance on community tourism, conservation and environmental responsibility. Facilities include a communal lounge, dining area and bar, a campfire, gift shop, organic garden, tree nursery and the Enjoolata Educational Centre.
Basecamp Masai Mara has 17 spacious river-view tents, including two family tents and a honeymoon tent. The tents are positioned beneath thatched roofs along the Talek River and include private verandahs overlooking the riverbed and Masai Mara National Reserve.
Each tent includes a king-size bed or twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with a bio-flush toilet, a solar-heated shower, complimentary Wi-Fi, a fan, electricity and an in-room safe. The family tents have two separate sleeping wings and a larger private balcony where families can relax together.
Meals are served in the camp’s communal dining area or outdoors, allowing guests to enjoy the natural surroundings of the Talek River. The kitchen prepares a selection of Kenyan and international dishes using fresh ingredients, including produce grown in the camp’s organic vegetable garden.
Guests may also enjoy picnic meals, bush dining and sundowners as part of their safari experience. The communal bar and campfire provide relaxed spaces to enjoy refreshments and share stories after a day exploring the Masai Mara.
