Tanzania has received the World Travel and Tourism Council’s Safe Travels stamp, which provides travelers with the assurance that we have implemented health and hygiene protocols in line with WTTC’s recommendations to make your stay in Tanzania safe.

The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania has released an updated Travel Advisory No. 9 effective from December
24, 2021. It pertains especially to COVID-19 preventive measures for international travelers going on the mainland or Zanzibar islands.

Arrival Requirements for Tanzania Mainland and Archipelago Zanzibar

Visitors to Tanzania must take a PCR test within 96 hours before their arrival and show it as negative. On arriving, all visitors will need an antigen test at $10 per person or $25 if arriving in Zanzibar. For more information on the type of test
required, please see the Tanzanian Government’s Travel Advisory.

All visitors to Tanzania must complete the Traveller’s Health Surveillance Form within 24 hours of arrival. This form can be submitted only once and is an important measure to ensure your safe stay here in our beautiful country. The Tanzanian mainland and Zanzibar each have their own forms, and we recommend printing and keeping a copy with you.

Depending on your final destination and airline requirements, you may require or not a PCR test upon departure from Tanzania Mainland or Archipelago Zanzibar. If so, pre-book an online appointment and ensure you do it within the correct timeframe to ensure your test results are valid.
