Andbeyond Lake Manyara tree lodge

Set in the heart of a mahogany forest, andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is located on the western side of the famous lake and is the only permanent lodge in the park.

Some airlines operate daily scheduled flights from Arusha or Kilimanjaro Airports to Lake Manyara Airstrip, followed by a scenic 1½-hour drive to the lodge through the national park.

Coastal Aviation operates daily flights from Dar es Salaam to Lake Manyara Airstrip.

The Lake Manyara Tree Lodge is the only permanent lodge in the Lake Manyara National Park. Its secluded position in amongst the forest of mahogany trees, with accommodation up in stilted treehouses, ensures intimacy and privacy—Marvel at the forest and its inhabitants through the treehouse windows or from your bath. Refresh yourself in an outdoor shower, enjoy fine dining or sip on a cocktail.

The daily rate includes the following:

• Your accommodation.
• Three meals daily (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
• Soft drinks, house wines, local brand spirits, beers, teas, and coffees.
• Drinks while out on game drives.
• Laundry.
• Use high-quality binoculars per room during your stay, a guidebook to flora and fauna, a birding checklist, a National Park map for Lake Manyara, a WILDchild program for children, Africa Foundation community visit, two-game drives per day, transfers to/from Lake Manyara Airstrip, emergency medical evacuation insurance.

Check-in time is from 14.00 hours, and check-out is by 10.00 hours.

Guests can book treehouse suites or interconnecting family treehouse suites.

Each treehouse suite is suspended above the ground, with its windows allowing views into the dense forest. You can even enjoy a view from the freestanding bathtub! And for a ‘natural’ experience, there is an outside shower. Surprisingly stylish for a treehouse, perhaps, each bedroom is furnished in a modern fashion. Fans and mosquito netting are present to keep you safe and comfortable.

If you choose the Family Suite option, you will find not one but two ensuite bedrooms.

To use the 220V AC plug sockets, you will need to bring plug type: ‘G’ British – BS 1363.

Malaria is present in this region, so you should take the necessary precautions.

Guests can use our pool to exercise and a sauna for relaxation in the daytime.

Several activities can be arranged; some may be at extra cost. These include game drives, night game drives, nature walks, birdwatching, community walk/community bike, treetop boardwalk, Africa Foundation community visit, and wellness treatments.

The lodge opens from May to March inclusive. (Closed April.)

andBeyond Lake Manyara Tree Lodge uses a generator as its main power source, which is generally switched off at night. With advance notice, we can provide electricity ‘around the clock for guests with special medical needs.
