Dining at Acacia Farm Lodge

Our enthusiastic chef and his team design tasty dishes from around the world and offer contemporary African meals. Those meals are enjoyed in our colorful dining room, and we use local produce wherever possible.

A themed menu is created daily, and a good selection of wines is available to complement the cuisine. And the lodge has a choice of fewer than three bars, including a poolside bar. We even offer a happy hour!

FAQs for Acacia Farm Lodge

You have questions, many questions. With over 35 years of experience, we at Easy Travel believe we have the answers.

Guests have two choices when deciding how to get to the lodge, which is situated in the region of Karatu. The first option is to fly to Lake Manyara airstrip from Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport. The airstrip is a mere 15 minutes drive from the lodge.

Alternatively, guests can take a vehicle from Arusha to the lodge, a distance of 165km or 2 hours and 40 minutes.

The lodge is situated outside the national parks, so there are no animals in the immediate region. Guests can, however, enjoy the many bird species, as well as trees and other flora.

The cost of a stay will depend on the dates of your stay and the number of guests. Please get in touch with us directly for prices.

Our rooms are available on a single, double, triple, and quadruple interconnecting basis.

Check-in is from 11.00 hours, and check-out is by 10.00 hours.

Yes, the Acacia Farm Lodge is suitable for family bookings. Interconnecting rooms are available.

Free Wi-fi is available.

Yes, there is an outdoor fireplace, which the staff will light in the evening.

Guests are always advised to drink bottled water at the lodge and use the water in the taps for showers and washing. Use bottled water for cleaning your teeth, too.

At an extra cost, laundry service is available at the lodge.

Numerous activities can be arranged for guests, though it should be noted that these can be at extra cost and should be reserved in advance wherever possible. Activities available include a massage service, bush lunch or breakfast, nature trip (walk) to the Enduro Elephant Caves, cultural tribe tour, cycling, birdwatching, mini-gym, swimming, and farm tour.

Each room has the following: air-conditioning, minibar, and kettle, TV, Wi-fi, balcony, mosquito nets, bathrobes, hairdryer, safe.

Yes, with advance notice, we can cater to most dietary requirements. Acacia Farm Lodge will be able to cater to these, and we recommend that you stress your needs on arrival at the lodge.

A ‘tipping box’ is available if you want to give a gratuity and any tips received are then shared amongst the lodge staff. We advise that you make your contribution at the time of your check-out.

Yes, the rooms have mosquito nets. We advise you also to bring your mosquito repellent.

Yes, the Acacia Farm Lodge does provide hot water for showers.

It is useful to arrive at the lodge with sufficient cash to pay for extra drinks and staff gratuities. Banknotes such as 5-dollar, 10-dollar, and 20-dollar bills are best. Poor network coverage in the area may mean that the card machine is not always working. Most of the time, you can use US Dollars in Tanzania, particularly in tourist areas, and major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, lodges, and camps. However, we advise having some local currency on you if you want to purchase from a local shop. Major towns and airports have forex bureaus where you can exchange most major currencies such as US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros, etc.

There is a safe in each of the rooms for this purpose.

Our guide will focus on balancing information with entertainment – we aim to make this a truly ‘fun’ experience for all our guests. Our walking tour will let you visit this area’s most beautiful and interesting corners. Taking about 40 minutes, this is an experience not to be missed, as it introduces you to many of our fascinating bird species and informs you about the fauna. We take in the coffee farm and our vegetable garden, and we finish with delicious fresh juice at a traditional Iraqw (tribe) house, carefully preserved since the lodge was built.

Using the paths spread across our 25 acres of grounds, guests can take our lodge bikes and explore! This is included in your rate, and you will experience the incredible scenery as you ride at your leisure. There’s no need to be super-fit.

Tanzania is a real birder’s Paradise, and many colorful species exist here. Incredible statistic: there are well over 1100 species recorded in our country! And Acacia Farm has dozens of species waiting for your spot in its beautiful gardens.

Well, the clue is in the name, as this spot is where the world’s biggest land mammal chooses to take a drink. But that’s not all, as you will be with a professional, highly trained guide/ranger who will help you spot various animal and bird species as your adventure progresses—a very worthwhile experience.

Tanzania is a land of people and tribes – hundreds of them! Our cultural tribe tour will give you some insight into the culture and traditions of the Iraqw, Hadzabe, or Datoga Tribes. The Hadzabe are still genuine hunter-gatherers, and the Datoga are renowned blacksmiths. Meet these fascinating people and marvel at their way of living.
