Ngorongoro Simba Campsite is a spacious public camping area located on the southwestern rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, about 2 kilometers from the crater village.
The Ngorongoro Simba Campsite offers stunning views of the crater floor and an authentic Tanzania camping experience within one of the country’s most famous wildlife destinations. This unfenced campsite allows wildlife from the crater to roam nearby, enhancing the immersive Tanzania camping atmosphere.
At Ngorongoro Simba Campsite, guests do not need to bring their own tents. Our safari chef will set up the tents we provide. They will have mattresses, sleeping bags, pillows, and mosquito nets to ensure a comfortable Tanzania camping experience.
The Ngorongoro Simba campsite provides clean toilets and hot showers; however, firewood and campfires are not allowed and should be removed from the contents. Guests should heed safety advice relating to wildlife around the unfenced area, and rangers provide patrols for protection.
Dining at Ngorongoro Simba Campsite is enjoyed in a communal hall featuring nourishing local dishes prepared by the safari chef. Hot beverages and cold drinks are served to complement mealtimes, which are social occasions among campers.
There is also a shared kitchen space for those who prefer to prepare their own meals during their Tanzania camping stay.
