Saadani Safari Lodge

The Saadani Safari Lodge is in the Saadani National Park on Tanzania’s East Coast. It is just a five-minute drive from a private airstrip.

If arriving by air, the flight time from Zanzibar to Saadani Airstrip is just 15 minutes. If flying from Dar es Salaam Airport, the flight time to Saadani Airstrip is 40 minutes via Zanzibar. These flight times are subject to variations due to multiple drop-offs and pick-ups. 

Luggage restrictions for light aircraft apply and are currently 15kg/33lbs per person in a soft-shell bag.

If arriving by road, the journey time from Dar es Salaam to Saadani Safari Lodge is between 2 to 3 hours, depending on the traffic in Dar es Salaam. 

Check-in at Saadani Safari Lodge is from 15.00 hours, and check-out is by midday (later by pre-arrangement, an extra charge may apply.)

Specifically included in the rate at the Saadani Safari Lodge are all meals and drinks (excluding premium brands), the airport transfers to and from Saadani Airstrip, any park/concession fees, and one group/shared activity per day (this could be a game drive or a river safari, or a village tour. 

Specifically excluded are any premium alcoholic drinks, any additional activities, any gratuities to drivers/guides and lodge staff, and any items of a personal nature, including telephone calls and gifts bought at the curio shop. Any private vehicle or guide hires, as are any laundry or dry cleaning charges, are also excluded.

Yes, children of two years and older are welcome at the Saadani Safari Lodge. Children over 13 are considered adults.

Tipping is entirely at the guests’ discretion but is always appreciated by the staff at Saadani Safari Lodge. A tip box is present at the hotel reception, and any tips will be shared among all the staff members. We prefer tipping to be done collectively in this way to ensure recognition for the members of staff who work hard behind the scenes.

Guests at the Saadani Safari Lodge can enjoy the outdoor pool, game drives, river safaris, or take a yoga class. Enjoying spectacular sunsets is another popular activity.

Yes, guests on their honeymoon can expect special surprises during their stay at Saadani Safari Lodge. We try and afford them maximum privacy wherever possible. We provide a special honeymoon welcome, sparkling wine on arrival, and a private meal on the deck or a private beach or pool dinner.

Tap water at the Saadani Safari Lodge is only recommended for washing and cleaning. Bottled mineral water should be used for drinking and brushing teeth.
