In the Selous Game Reserve (now correctly called Nyerere National Park), The Retreat Selous occupies a remote, secluded spot for you to embrace the essence of the African wilderness.
Just twelve suites at The Retreat Selous are ‘hidden’ here in Africa’s largest protected wildlife sanctuary. Choose your adventure, and The Retreat will make it a reality. Great cuisine, service, location…everything is here to ensure perfection! And, of course, wildlife – elephants, black rhinos, hippos, leopards, wild dogs, giraffes, and plenty more!
The Retreat Selous’s twelve tented suites are super-spacious, canvas under thatched roofs, spaced apart for privacy and seclusion. All tents can be open for great views or closed to keep out any insects. (The inner wall is netted, and the outer is a tough canvas.)
Particularly enchanting are the freestanding bathtubs situated on the outdoor decking. The furniture and furnishings are imbued with African styling. Romantics should consider our ‘Love Nest’ tree house option, perfect for couples looking out to the Ruaha River below.
Although the restaurant at The Retreat Selous is a great place to dine, there are other superb options where excellent cuisine can be served. Perhaps enjoy a dinner by the open fire.
The kitchen team features local and international cuisine, with fresh produce from Tanzania’s coastal regions. The expert chefs are skilled and creative. No fewer than three bars will provide your favorite refreshment.
