Twin objectives drive the Manyara Ranch Conservancy, namely the benefiting of local Tanzanian communities and – of course – tourism. The establishment is situated in the wildlife migration corridor known as Kwakuchinja, within an exclusive area of 35,000 acres. A watering hole draws many animal species to the area.
Only eight tents occupy this space, so overcrowding is never an issue. Guests staying at this tented camp focused on being eco-friendly will find stylish furnishings in their spacious tents.
Six tents can be set up as doubles, twins, or triples, while there is also a two-tent family accommodation option at Manyara Ranch Conservancy. Each unit has netted windows, extra-long beds with high-quality linen, an en suite with rain-head showers, and flush toilets.
Furniture is handmade, with a wardrobe, writing table, wooden chests (with locks), and hat stand. A nice feature is a front porch, letting you enjoy the views while you sip a coffee.
At Manyara Ranch Conservancy, the dining room is a communal tent, though, in pleasant weather, meals can be enjoyed outside. (The watering hole in front of the camp means that animals may join you at mealtimes!)
Bread is freshly made, while local produce features the delicious cuisine the chef and his team created. With notice, the team will cater to most special diets. All meals and ‘house’ drinks are included in the nightly rate.

Both ‘Full Board’ and ‘Game Package’ rates at our camp include all meals, drinks (all hot drinks and cold drinks such as water, soft drinks, house wines, beer, and spirits. Please note that champagne and any premium brands requested are at extra charge), laundry, night game drives, guided bush walks, game viewing (from hides by the watering-hole), visits a partner Maasai village (with an option to visit Manyara Ranch Primary School, arranged with prior notice). Guests on our ‘Game Package’ rate will also enjoy guided daytime game drives in open vehicles.
There is access to wheelchairs and rooms for those of lesser mobility. Please get in touch with us in advance to discuss your requirements.
Mineral bottled water is provided for drinking and brushing your teeth. Water and other drinks are included in the rate.
After taking a refreshing sundowner drink, or perhaps after dinner, the night game drive begins. You will be driven in an open-top vehicle and warmed up in a blanket. Your expert guide will help you identify the surprising number of active wildlife species after dark. What might you see? Perhaps an Aardvark, perhaps a hyena, or even big cats such as lions or a leopard.
