Mdonya Old River Camp is located in the famous Ruaha National Park, a giant place where the wilderness is the wildlife playground. This camp is committed to reducing its carbon footprint and supporting local communities.
Guests love sitting on the camp’s spacious verandas, contemplating the animals as they saunter past. Take a close look through the binoculars! Our selection of wildlife books will tell you more about the passing species – perhaps a zebra, a lion, or an elephant.
Set in amongst various iconic African trees, the twelve tents of the Mdonya Old River Camp can be configured for solo travelers, couples, or family groups. (Families are accommodated by fitting an additional tent onto the verandah.)
These classic safari tents are comfortable and welcoming. They feature an ensuite bathroom equipped with a flush toilet and a shower with hot water provided by solar power.
The Mdonya Old River Camp is committed to sourcing locally and organic produce wherever possible. Teas, jams, fresh fruit, and vegetables do not travel far to reach the camp.
Some of the items that make your food so delicious here are the products from the Iringa Young Women’s Project and dairy (mozzarella, caciotta, and provolone) From the Njombe Milk Farm, another community project.
