Meals at the Mufindi Highland Lodge are served as follows:

Breakfast: 07.00 – 09.30 hours
 Lunch: 13.00 hours 
 Afternoon tea: 16.00 hours
 Dinner: 19.30 hours

If necessary, earlier times can be arranged for young children. Packed lunches can be arranged, but these should be requested the evening before.

Open all day, the bar at the Mufindi Highland Lodge can be found upstairs. All drinks must be purchased at the bar, with a wide choice. If you want to bring something special from outside, there will be a corkage charge: please talk to the manager. 

You will be asked to sign for any drinks, and payment can be made on the day of departure. Visa and Mastercard are accepted, subject to a 3.5% surcharge. Payment in cash is fine; we accept Tanzanian Shillings, US Dollars, Euros, or Pounds Sterling.

A wood boiler is situated behind your cabin at the Mufindi Highland Lodge. These are lit late afternoon to give you enough hot water before dinner. The water tanks may have cooled down come the morning. It does take some time for the hot water to arrive from the boiler – please be patient!

The Mufindi Highland Lodge offers various activities (note that extra charges and minimum age limits may apply). These include: walking excursions, horse riding, lawn tennis, badminton, croquet, bowls, hiking, visits to the Secret Garden (lush with plants and trees), snooker/pool, darts, fishing in the lakes, and boat trips. 

Guests may also visit the Igoda Children’s Village, which looks after children whose parents have died or cannot support them.

The tap water at the Mufindi Highland Lodge is only recommended for washing and cleaning. Bottled mineral water should be used for drinking and brushing teeth. 

Yes, the Mufindi Highland Lodge is a safe place to stay. A room safe is provided for your valuables; please use it!

No, there is no smoking in the rooms at the Mufindi Highland Lodge. Please smoke outside on the veranda, where there is an ashtray. 

Staying at the Mufindi Highland Lodge for two nights or more will allow you to get to know the region better. 

Yes, you will hear birdsong every morning at the Mufindi Highland Lodge, and you can look out for monkeys in the forest.
