The Great Ruaha River gives its name to the national park through which it flows and to the Ruaha River Lodge, a great place to explore the region’s natural wonders. The Ruaha River Lodge is constructed with local materials and in amongst the distinctive rocky outcrops (‘kopjes.’)
Ruaha River Lodge maximizes its location on the river bend, and game passes by throughout the day. Just relax on your veranda…and watch the wildlife show begin!
The two dozen stone chalets comprising the Ruaha River Lodge stretch along the river. Each looks out towards the water as it flows through the park.
Inside the chalet, guests can relax in the seating area. There is either a comfortable double bed or two singles, together with a desk—a spacious bathroom at the rear features double basins and a shower.
In Riverside, guests can enjoy breakfast in the dining banda as the wildlife cautiously approach the waters for a drink.
At the other end of the day, head to the highest kopje for a refreshing sundowner, chat around the campfire in the evenings, stay indoors, and reflect on the day just gone – or the one to follow.
