As the sole permanent camp in the remote southern Serengeti, the Sanctuary Kusini Serengeti is located by some iconic kopje (rocky outcrops) and looks down over the incredible wildlife-rich plains. You can enjoy the passing Great Migration in season.

Twelve double tents make up the camp accommodation at Sanctuary Kusini Serengeti, Spacious and fully-furnished, and en suite with an indoor shower. A furnished deck lets you sit and watch the passing zebra, buffalo, and even the occasional lion.
The tented rooms have protective mosquito netting, hairdryers, and a safe for valuables. A personal tent attendant is assigned to look after guests’ requirements. Free Wi-fi is provided.
Sanctuary Kusini Serengeti’s Guests will enjoy all three meals – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – as part of their rate and snacks during any chosen activities. A communal mess tent is a venue for meals, though packed breakfast or lunch can be provided.
Cocktails can be enjoyed on the top of the main kopje – a great place to watch the sunset. Dinner is a three-course delight. Special diets can be accommodated, though not kosher, and our chefs are not specifically trained in halal food preparation.

Sanctuary Kusini has a private airstrip, the Serengeti South Airstrip (SGS), which accommodates daily scheduled light aircraft. Private charter flights can also be arranged. From the Airstrip to the camp is around 15 minutes by road.
Flight times to Serengeti South airstrip (SGS) airstrip from Arusha are 1 hour 30 minutes (depending on stops). Please be aware that a light aircraft luggage limit of 15kg / 33lbs per person in a soft-sided bag applies.
By road, the camp is an eight-hour drive from Arusha.

The rate includes accommodation, all meals, all drinks (excluding premium brands and champagne), laundry, two daily shared game viewing activities (this applies to those on a ‘Game Package’ only and includes morning and afternoon game drives), return transfers to and from the Airstrip to the camp (‘Game Package’ guests only), emergency medical evacuation.
Each tent has a private balcony, and inside there are bathrobes, toiletries, a room safe, a hairdryer, mosquito netting, and a desk.
Sanctuary Kusini Serengeti welcomes children six years old and above. Any children aged 15 years or below must share with their parents. Triple rooms are available on request.
The electricity supply combines a silent-packed generator and a battery.
We celebrate honeymoon couples with special surprises. Some of these are a honeymoon welcome card in the tent, a private breakfast on the kopje overlooking the Serengeti plains, and a bottle of sparkling wine on arrival.
Any extras may be paid with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or US dollars. British Pounds and Euros are also accepted. The change will be given in USD when payment is made in USD. The change will be given in the local currency for any other currencies. Diners Cards are not accepted. Please note that there is no currency exchange facility available.
Tipping is entirely discretionary, though very welcome. Accepted rates are $15 per guest per day for any guide used and $15 per day for the rest of the staff. A tipping box is present for the latter.

Yes, we have a sauna for guests to use during their stay.
Guest can arrange (some at extra cost): bush picnics, game drives, stargazing, and walking safaris.
Your tent attendant will wake you up with your favorite hot drink, then enjoy a full English or continental breakfast in the communal dining area. You then set off for some morning game viewing. You can then return to camp for a three-course lunch or eat a pre-arranged picnic lunch if you prefer to extend your game viewing without returning to camp. Enjoy your bush picnic in a shady location – in the middle of the bush.
The sunset is viewed from the top of a kopje, a breathtaking sight. With cocktails and snacks, what could be better than a sensational African sunset? For special occasions, we can make this a private occasion. Special dinners can also be arranged.
