Each of the six tents at the Selous Impala Camp makes the most of its elevated platform position, looking down from its veranda over and beyond the Rufiji River. The family units are, in fact, two en-suite tents on a single platform.
The camp seeks to be at one with its surroundings, 100% plastic-free, solar-powered, and with locally sourced construction materials. Water is from the river, filtered, and made safe for guest usage. Both hot and cold Water is readily available for showering.

Nyerere National Park can be accessed by air, with domestic flights operated by Coastal Aviation or Safari Air Link. By road from Dar es Salaam, the journey takes around five hours. The road distance varies from 180km to 230 km depending on which gate you choose to access the Nyerere National Park. The nearest airstrips are Mtemere Airstrip and Siwandu Airstrip.
The Selous Impala Camp is a 4-hour vehicle drive from Dar es Salaam. Selous Impala Camp is in the Nyerere National Park, formerly the Selous Game Reserve. This is the largest national park in Tanzania and one of the world’s largest wildlife sanctuaries.
The flight from Dar es Salaam is around 45 minutes, landing at Mtemere Airstrip, just 14 km from the Selous Impala Camp.
