Usangu Expedition Camp Asilia Africa

Ruaha National Park is situated to the west of the town of Iringa in south-central Tanzania. The park varies in elevation from 2,500 to 5,200 feet (or 760 to 1,580 meters) and stretches over 5,000 square miles (12,950 square km).

Over 450 species of birds have been recorded, including many ostriches. The wetlands are also popular with migratory bird species and amphibians.

Please note that the Usangu Expedition Camp Asilia Africa is closed between December and May and is open from the start of June until the end of November.

Between June and November, the climate at Usangu Expedition Camp Asilia Africa is hot and dry. The area of the Usangu wetlands is at its smallest, and the surrounding grasslands dry out. This makes walking possible and facilitates vehicle transportation, which is difficult, if not impossible, during the rainy months. 

The nearest airstrip to the Usangu Expedition Camp Asilia Africa is Jongomero, a two-hour drive from Camp.
