Although referred to as a ‘camp,’ Beho Beho is slightly different, with accommodation in stone-built, thatched cottages rather than traditional canvas. Beho Beho enjoys a location in the highlands of the Nyerere National Park (formerly the Selous Game Reserve.)
With only eight beautiful bandas (cottages) for its guests, located around the main building, Beho Beho exudes the ambiance of a private house, welcoming you wholeheartedly into the wilderness of the Tanzanian bush. A delightful pool is a welcome bonus!
Beho Beho’s spacious ‘bands’ come equipped with king-sized beds, day beds, and desks. Each opens onto a large veranda, perfect for daytime relaxing. Double and twin options are available, and extra beds are possible.
Guests will find a separate dressing room and en suite bathroom with a flush toilet and open-air shower inside. Each banda also has its private plunge pool. Guests can choose the two-bedroomed Baileys’ Banda or the remote Treehouse (4 nights’ stay required).
Dining at Beho Beho is both delicious and flexible, designed to give you a great culinary experience as well as allow you to maximize your safaris. So, food does not necessarily fit straight into the strict’ breakfast-lunch-dinner schedule.
Guests are often amazed at what might be created so far from ‘civilization,’ and special diets can be catered for – inform us when booking. Meals are always taken communally – guests and guides together – at various locations around Beho Beho.

The dry season is from June to the end of October/the start of November, and it is during this dry period the wildlife will gather around the diminishing water resources – making them easy to see! So-called ‘short rains’ fall in November and December, and this is springtime in Nyerere. It’s a great time for plants, flowers, insects, and birdlife. This is also the main birthing time, a great time to see baby animals. January to March is the hot and humid season with occasional rain showers. April and May is the rainy season. Due to poor conditions, Beho Beho is closed each year from 21st March to 1st June.
