The small and intimate Dunia Camp is set in a privileged, strategic location and is perfect for exploring some of Africa’s finest wildlife-spotting sites. Seronera is ‘wildlife central,’ with dozens of species to discover; the famous Moru Kopjes rocks are a preferred lookout for predatory big cats, and the Seronera River attracts prey and predators alike.
Dunia is unique in Africa in that it is run entirely by women, guaranteeing a warm, hospitable welcome. Truly this is a remarkable, inspirational place that sets a standard for the future.
The solar-powered Dunia Camp consists of only eight spacious tents, one suited for families. The beauty of the Serengeti National Park stretches in front of you as you relax on your terrace.
Our tents are equipped with a king-sized bed and full en suite bathroom (hot water shower and flush toilet.) An in-room safe is provided; you can charge your appliances in the tent.
Our Dunia chefs strive to make the most of local produce and ingredients, for example, buying seasonal fresh vegetables from the nearby tribespeople.
Cooked breakfast makes for the best possible beginning to each day. (If you are on an early morning game drive, you can have breakfast on your return.) Lunch can be taken buffet-style or provided as a packed lunch on safari. The camp team prepares delicious dinner, which can be enjoyed ‘bush-style’ under the stars.

Guests have two choices when deciding how to get to the camp. The first option is to fly into either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport, stay overnight in Arusha City, and then be driven 335 km or 8 hours to the camp.
Alternatively, guests can avoid the bumpy Tanzanian roads by taking an internal flight from Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport to the Seronera Airstrip, which is only a 90-minute flight and a 40-minute drive from the airstrip to the lodge.
As Dunia Camp is in the Central Serengeti, the twice-yearly Great Migration passes close by, allowing guests to experience the greatest show on Earth. This involves the movement of millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles as they trek between the Serengeti and Kenya’s Masai Mara – and back again! And since the camp is within the National Park boundaries, you can opt to start your game drives early and maximize the viewing of the animals.
The cost of a stay will depend on the dates of your stay and the number of guests. Please get in touch with us for prices.
Dunia Camp food is nutritious and wholesome, drawing on local flavors for its inspiration. Fresh and organic produce is at the forefront, locally sourced wherever possible.
Lunch will be buffet-style, while dinner will usually be three courses based on meat or fish (vegetarians catered for) and can be served outdoors under the starry African sky.
Our tents are available in single, double, twin, triple, or family.
Children aged five and older are welcome at our camp. Please get in touch with us if you have any queries on this matter.
Each tent has USB and battery-charging facilities. Please bring adaptors with you. Plug-type is British-type BS-1363. Occasional power outages are possible, as is usual anywhere in Tanzania.
Activities that can be organized (at extra cost) include game drives, a balloon safari, bush lunch or dinner, and sundowner.
Dunia Camp has an outdoor fireplace, which staff light in the evening. A great place to unwind!
Amenities include hot-water showers and baths, laundry service, eco-friendly (solar power, organic produce), flush toilets, room safe, USB charger, and battery-charging facilities in each tent.
While our camp does have basic Wi-fi available in some areas, guests should be aware that internet speeds will be slower than at home. It will be sufficient for sending simple e-mails etc.
Yes, with advance notice, we can cater to most dietary requirements. Dunia Camp can cater to these, and we recommend you stress your needs on arrival.
Guests are always advised to drink bottled water at the camp and use the water in the taps for showers and washing. Use bottled water for cleaning your teeth, too.
Yes, it is a complimentary service. Washing powder is provided. To respect local culture, underwear is not washed by the staff. The return time will depend on the weather when drying is done outdoors.
Tips (gratuities) are entirely up to you. Of course, any gratuities are greatly appreciated and appropriate, especially where service has exceeded your expectations. You will find a tipping box at the camp, and tipping is best done at checkout. Tips will be shared amongst the staff and can be made either in Tanzanian Shillings, US Dollars, Euros, or Pounds Sterling.
Yes, the tents have mosquito nets. We advise you also to bring your mosquito repellent.
Yes, the camp provides hot water for showers.
It is useful to arrive at the camp with sufficient cash to pay for extra drinks and staff gratuities. Banknotes such as 5-dollar, 10-dollar, and 20-dollar bills are best. Poor network coverage in the park may mean the card machine is not always working. Most of the time, you can use US Dollars in Tanzania, particularly in tourist areas, and major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, lodges, and camps. However, we advise having some local currency on you if you want to purchase from a local shop. Major towns and airports have forex bureaus where you can exchange most major currencies such as US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros, etc.
The staff speaks English and Swahili.
