Guests are advised to arrive in Pemba by light aircraft, landing at Chake Chake Airport (PMA). It would help if you searched for flights with local carriers such as Zanair, Auric Air, Flightlink, and As-Salaam. Chake Chake Airport has flights to/from international airports such as Zanzibar, Dar es Salaam and Nairobi (Kenya). Private charter flights are also available – contact details can be provided on request. The Fundu Lagoon cannot accept any flight arrivals after 17.00 hours. The ferry service from Zanzibar is unreliable, and there is no road access.
A Fundu representative at Chake Chake airport will meet guests. Next, there will be a vehicle to Mkoani ferry port, which is around 40 minutes. A private boat service will take you to Fundu Lagoon, a journey of 10 – 20 minutes, and you will arrive at the jetty of the Fundu Lagoon.
If you leave in the afternoon on departure day, your luggage will be collected at 11.00 hours. Guests can use the facilities until departure, have lunch, and shower before departing. Late departures can be arranged before arrival and are subject to availability.
