The Mount Meru Game Lodge enjoys a privileged setting close to the USA river and an animal sanctuary where wildlife roams. It is amongst the oldest lodges in Northern Tanzania, with the main building nearly 100 years old.
A shady terrace provides a wonderfully relaxing place, overlooking the beautiful, lush gardens, a special lodge feature. The sanctuary lies just beyond, making this an ideal place from which to start your safari adventure.
There are 17 rooms at the lodge, with 13 double rooms, two singles, one triple, and one interconnecting family room. A special feature is the extra-long beds, giving all a comfortable night’s sleep.
Respecting its long and illustrious history, the lodge has tried to retain some of the rooms’ original features while at the same time ensuring that guests can enjoy modern amenities and facilities.
Regarding dining, guests comment favorably on the variety and high quality of the cuisine prepared by the lodge kitchen team. An outdoor dining area is a popular feature on the lodge grounds.
Guests can soak up the sights and sounds of Africa as they enjoy a delicious alfresco dinner beneath the amazing stars. A campfire adds to the fantastic atmosphere – a special place to dine!
