Guests have two choices when deciding how to get to the camp. The first option is to fly into either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport, stay overnight in Arusha City, and then be driven 335 kilometers or 8 hours to the camp.

Alternatively, guests can avoid bumpy Tanzanian roads by taking an internal flight from Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport to the Seronera Airstrip, which is only a 90-minute flight and 2 hours drive from the airstrip to the camp.

The game viewing here is magnificent. With permanent water below ground – something rare in this region – plenty of animals come to drink and graze here. Predators, such as big cats, are on the prowl, too. And given the camp’s location inside the National Park area, you can begin your morning game drives early to ensure you see all you can see.

You can choose to have a massage in your tent or the spa area. Our professional staff will pamper you, allowing you to enjoy the perfect recovery after a day of safari. You can choose your massage or maybe a rejuvenating facial using organic materials.

Our food is delicious, all made right here at the camp. That includes our bread and other goodies such as muffins and biscuits. Start the day with a full English-style or continental breakfast. Those going out on safari can take a packed lunch to enjoy on the savannah, while at the camp, a midday buffet features fresh salad and fruit. In the evenings, our three-course dinner is served outdoors or in the dining tent.

We welcome children over five years old to Namiri Plains and can offer a family tent that sleeps four (any children under 12 years old must share a tent with an adult). We do not have any activities for children, but our staff love kids and keep them entertained.

Room amenities include hot-water showers and baths, flush toilet, and room safe.

Yes, free Wi-fi is available, though internet speeds may not be what you are used to at home. While the facility should be sufficient for emails and social media, it will not be suitable for heavy usage such as live streaming.

Yes, the camp has an outdoor fireplace, which the staff will light in the evenings.

There are two game drives at Namiri Plains each day: one first in the morning, the other in the late afternoon. Walking safaris and hot air balloon rides are also available and are a great opportunity to learn about how the whole Serengeti ecosystem works. Note that these activities are at an extra cost.

Yes, the Namiri Plains does provide hot water for showers.

Guests are always advised to drink bottled water at the camp and use the water in the taps for showers and washing. Use bottled water for cleaning your teeth, too.

A limited, complimentary laundry service is included in the camp package.

It is useful to arrive at the camp with sufficient cash to pay for extra drinks and staff gratuities. Banknotes such as 5-dollar, 10-dollar, and 20-dollar bills are best. Poor network coverage in the park may mean the card machine is not always working. Most of the time, you can use US Dollars in Tanzania, particularly in tourist areas, and major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, lodges, and camps. However, we advise having some local currency on you if you want to purchase from a local shop. Major towns and airports have forex bureaus where you can exchange most major currencies such as US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros, etc.

A ”tipping box” is available if you want to give a gratuity and any tips received are then shared amongst the camp staff. We advise that you make your contribution at the time of your checkout.
