A former colonial-era farmhouse on the lower slopes of Mount Meru, Ngare Sero Mountain Lodge has been welcoming its guests for nearly 50 years. Its sumptuous gardens and relaxing atmosphere make it perfect for unwinding after a safari.
Guests can swim in the pool or choose one of the activities, such as taking a boat onto the lake or a gentle horse ride amongst the trees. Alternatively, sit back on the verandah and sip a drink while admiring mighty Kilimanjaro.
A choice of rooms is offered, with two Main House Rooms on the first floor of the manor house, ten Garden Rooms in the peaceful gardens, and one spacious Summit Suite with two self-contained bedrooms.
In addition, there is a Farm Cottage, situated away from the main building, which sleeps up to five guests in its two bedrooms. The nearby Guest House accompanies it with two single beds.
The kitchen team makes good use of the lodge’s organic garden, which provides vegetables and herbs to flavor the excellent cuisine. Other delights include fresh fish and home-baked bread.
Guests can dine outdoors, enjoying the lodge campfire and views of the nearby lake and trees. If you wish a bit of seclusion, feel free to ask us to arrange dinner in the lake’s pavilion – an intimate and romantic location!
