Nimali Mara

Nimali Mara is situated in the remote Kogatende sector of northern Tanzania, just a half-hour’s drive from the famous Mara River. It’s there that wildebeest dare to cross the crocodile-infected waters into Kenya – and back again.

Guests can fly to the Kogatende Airstrip via a private charter or scheduled flight from Arusha Airport. Nimali Mara is just a 35-minute game drive from the airstrip.

Guests can check in from 14.00 hours and must check out by 10.00 hours.

Guests can choose from a suite or honeymoon/family room.

Guests are always advised to drink bottled water at Nimali Mara and use the water in the taps for showers and washing. Use bottled water for cleaning your teeth, too.

The voltage is 220V.

Inside the tents are free-standing fans, a shower, double vanity basins, a room safe, hairdryer.

There are private plunge pools in the family/honeymoon suites only.

Nimali Mara welcomes children of all ages at the responsibility of their parent or guardian.

Nimali Mara is open all year.

Guests can arrange the following, some at extra charge: private game drives, balloon safari, sundowner experience, spa treatments, and bush meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner.)

A ‘tipping box’ is available if you want to give a gratuity and any tips received are then shared amongst the Nimali Mara staff. We advise that you make your contribution at the time of your checkout. Tips are entirely at your discretion, but we cannot accept tips by credit card – only in cash.

Yes, the Nimali Mara provides hot water for showers.

Well, this is a wilderness experience, and Nimali Mara is unfenced. Wildlife is free to enter, so it is best to be on the lookout. A staff member can escort you if you have any worries, which is mandatory after dark.
