The canoe safari takes place on Lake Gursi, not far from Sanctuary Swala Camp. After a safety and skills briefing, guests will hop into their two-person Canadian canoes to spend 2-3 hours on the water. From there, the landscape and its wildlife take on a whole new dimension – maybe you’ll see some elephants swimming or other wildlife taking a drink. A trained canoeing guide will be present. (Note that this activity is at an additional cost.)
With the accompanying walking guide and armed ranger, guests can explore one of the park’s most remote areas. You will learn about animal behaviors and might stumble across wildlife such as zebra, waterbuck, impala, ostrich, elephant, and any number of bird species. (Walking safaris have a maximum of 6 people and are at an additional cost).
Power is supplied via solar panels and a silent-packed generator.
