The Ole Serai Luxury Camp Moru Kopjes is ideally situated close to the Moru Kopjes and serene Lake Magadi. Being in the Seronera area of the world-famous Serengeti National Park, there is no better place than here for wildlife spotting.
The camp is designed to give our guests tremendous views down over the landscapes and favorite areas for the myriad animals who call this area their home or are just passing through on their constant search for nourishment. A hippo pool is close by!
Our camp consists of 19 luxury tents decorated with style and equipped with pressurized showers and flush toilets. With a covered verandah, you can relax and enjoy the unbeatable views – which can also be enjoyed from your bed!
We have 14 spacious, tasteful double tents, four twins, and one interconnecting family tent. You will find luxury ‘memory’ beds, tea/coffee-making facilities, a walkie-talkie radio, and a fan. A tempting verandah awaits you outside.
The camp prides itself on the quality of its dining, enjoyed by guests in the spacious dining tent. Ingredients are sourced from within Tanzania, many from Arusha. Try delicious local favorites, such as ugali.
Guests comment on the high standard of service and presentation, and our kitchen team works hard to satisfy their requirements. A well-stocked bar keeps everyone well-refreshed.

Guests have two choices when deciding how to get to the camp. The first option is to fly into either Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport, stay overnight in Arusha City, and then be driven 335 kilometers or 8 hours to the camp.
Alternatively, guests can avoid the bumpy Tanzanian roads by taking an internal flight from Arusha or Kilimanjaro International Airport to the Seronera Airstrip, which is only a 90-minute flight and a 30-minute drive from the airstrip to the camp.
The camp sits between the Nyaroboro Hills and the Rongai Hills, close to the Seronera River. Thanks to the presence of water, there is plenty of animal action in the locality, with resident wildlife and even a hippo pool in the immediate vicinity. The camp’s location makes it perfect for making an early start to your morning game drives.

There is a floor-standing fan, but please note that there is no air conditioning. Hairdryers on request.

It is useful to arrive at the lodge with sufficient cash to pay for extra drinks and staff gratuities. Banknotes such as 5-dollar, 10-dollar, and 20-dollar bills are best. Poor network coverage in the park may mean the card machine is not always working. Most of the time, you can use US Dollars in Tanzania, particularly in tourist areas, and major credit cards are accepted at most hotels, lodges, and camps. However, we advise having some local currency on you if you want to purchase from a local shop. Major towns and airports have forex bureaus where you can exchange most major currencies such as US Dollars, British Pounds, Euros, etc.
Our walking safaris usually begin from the camp and head towards the river, which is nearby. The guide will give you plenty of detail about flora and fauna in this fascinating area, rich in nature. Typically, a walk will take between 1 and 2 hours, according to your wishes. We will also take you to the hippo pool – quite an experience!
Of course! With its lack of pollution, the African sky is perfect for stargazing.
The staff speaks English and Swahili.
